John has many years of experience in both business brokerage and commercial real estate. He was a founding partner of Nessel & Wilking Commercial Group and V/T Commercial Real Estate, both in Burlington, Vermont. He specialized in hospitality brokerage, industrial and office leasing, and the sale of owner occupied and investment real estate. He is also skilled at retail tenant representation. In this capacity he represented Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Brueggers Bagels in site selection and lease negotiations in the Chicago, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Boston markets.

Throughout his business brokerage and real estate career John has also created, owned and operated a variety of restaurants from full service dining to fast casual. John was the mastermind behind the creation of a Boston based chain of Bagel Cafes (Aesops Bagels), with an affiliated wholesale manufacturing business selling to all the major New England food service distributors.

John is the President of the Restaurant Resource Group which has been providing financial consulting and advisory services to the hospitality industry since 1998. These services include QuickBooks accounting setup, training and support, financial startup and feasibility plans, valuation services, and the implementation of food & beverage cost controls.

John currently specializes in Restaurant and Hospitality brokerage and advisory services. He represents owners planning their exit and buyer’s looking to acquire restaurant and hospitality businesses in the Cape Cod & Islands and South Shore marketplace.

John received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his Masters in Environmental Engineering Science from the University of Florida. John resides at the Ridge Club in Sandwich with his wife Mary who is an Artist and Master Gardener.
